If you are a teacher and you want to make a positive difference in the lives of your students and farm animals everywhere, you've come to the right place! Farm Sanctuary understands what a great responsibility you have as shapers and educators of future generations, and we want to help equip you with the knowledge and resources you need to share your compassionate ideals with your students. Whether you use Farm Sanctuary teaching materials in your classroom, take a field trip to one of our shelters, sponsor a farm animal through our Adopt-a-Farm Animal project, or all of the above, we hope you'll think of us when planning your curriculum.

Field Trips
Farm Sanctuary's shelters in California and New York are home to hundreds of rescued cows, pigs, turkeys, and other farm animals. Both shelters offer regular guided tours for the public and special group tours for 10 or more people. Why not treat your students to a unique and memorable experience — arrange a tour for your class today!

New York Shelter
Our 175-acre New York farm is set amidst rolling green hills and forests in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. Located near Watkins Glen, the shelter is open to visitors from May 1 until October 31.

California Shelter
Our 300-acre California Shelter farm sits on the Eastern foothills of the Coastal mountain range near Orland, California (north of Sacramento). The shelter is open to visitors April 1 through November 30.

To learn more about arranging a tour for your students, please email info@farmsanctuary.org or call (607) 583-2276 ext. 221. You may also click here for more information on visiting our farms.

Adopt-a-Farm Animal Project
By participating in Farm Sanctuary's Adopt-a-Farm Animal Project, your students can help provide the necessary support to shelter and feed a rescued animal — a cow, pig, chicken, or other farm animal — who we might not be able to help without you. Many teachers, together with their classes, have sponsored Farm Sanctuary critters through this project in the past. Thanks to their support, we have saved countless animals from the nightmare of "food animal" production, and provided for them a life they once only dreamed of.
